Review & Description
1mil Kapton/Polyimide tape with a high temperature silicone adhesive. Thin film backing is conformable for use on non-uniform surfaces. Superior chemical resistance, high dielectric strength and excellent dimensional stability. Often used for gold finger protection during wave soldering, wrapping during electrical insulation and masking during powder coating. Applications: Gold finger protection during wave solder Masking for powder coating Holding, insulating and wrapping Product Benefits: Excellent mechanical and electrical properties Good dielectric strength High temperature resistance Clean removal High conformability/resistance to solvents Abrasion resistant Technical Properties: Total Thickness (not including liner): 2.5 mils Adhesive Type: Silicone Adhesion: 25 oz/in Tensile strength: 30 lbs/in Elongation: 50% Insulation class: 180C Dielectric strength: 6500 Operating temperature: 22F - 266F Recommendations: Unwind adhesive film or tape and apply the adhesive side to the surface. Apply firm pressure. Recommended application temperature to achieve best results is 65F (18C) or above. Proper bonding may not occur unless adhesive and surface material are both at 65F (18C) or above.
